EYEGLASS COLLECTIONS: This is an ongoing project. We have collection boxes in various locations in the Town of Franklin. The glasses are collected and counted, then sent to Camp Dogwood where they are sent on for distribution. The Franklin Lions Club also collects hearing aids.
BRIGHTER VISIONS: The money from White Cane goes to NCLF (North Carolina Lions Foundation) which uses it for services for the blind such as providing white canes, radio reading service, Barille, hearing aids and other humanitarian projects. The Franklin Lions has a renewed focus on White Cane with several fund raisers planned for this year.
FUNDRAISERS: Each year the Franklin Lions host a Spring BBQ Dinner and a Fall Spaghetti Dinner. These two events help fund our many community projects. Both events are held at the Louisa Chapel Fellowship Hall.
SCHOLARSHIPS: Each year the Franklin Lions give scholarships to a student or students from Franklin. The student is chosen based on need. In other words, students are usually not in the top 10% of their class and/or receive any other financial support.
BROOM SALES: The Franklin Lions offer our "Broom Sales" several times a year including during "PumpkinFest" held in October in downtown Franklin. The sales feature products made by and to support the visually impaired.

DIME BOARD: This special project takes place just before Christmas. For three weekends, you'll see Lions at various locations around Franklin collecting money for our Santa Pal project and Christmas Baskets for shut ins. All money stays in Macon County to help the underprivileged.
SANTA PAL & CHRISTMAS BASKETS: Money raised during our Dime Board weekends fund these two special projects. Franklin Lions take over 30 youngsters shopping for clothing then to meet Santa for special gifts. Our gift baskets contain food gift certificates and goodies for the elderly and shut-ins.
DIABETES AWARENESS: Chairman Judy Burnett - This project is special to Lions since Diabetes is the major contributor to blindness.
